Seal-Flex

What makes SEAL-FLEX better than other comparably priced surfaces is its patented construction and application process.

Why Seal-flex?

Traditional granular rubber surfaces incorporate randomly dispersed rubber “pebbles” that “float” in a binder. As the binder begins to deteriorate with age and climatic changes, these “pebbles” are free to separate and break away from the surface.

The SEAL-FLEX matrix is composed of interlocking stranded rubber particles bound by a tough latex compound and permanently bonded to an asphalt substrate. The chemical interaction of these materials combined with the interlocking rubber strands creates a durable, seamless, web-like mat surface.

Unlike granular surfaces, SEAL-FLEX rubber particles won’t “pick” out or break loose under the regular punishment of track shoe spike action. its chemical composition resists oxidizing or degeneration under ultra-violet rays or climatic changes. The surface remains resilient season after season, even cold weather. And because of its unique composition. seal-flex reduces the risk of running related injuries common with harder surfaces.

Choose the surface that’s right for you. SEAL-FLEX is available in various colors and thicknesses, depending upon your requirements.

Professional installation, means quality that you can count on.

When you choose a new track for your school, you want the best track that your money can buy. You want a track that is safe, attractive and easy to maintain. You want a track that is a source of pride and asset to your school. You want a SEAL-FLEX track.

A SEAL-FLEX track, in plain words, lets you have a better track for less money. You get all the advantages of an all-weather synthetic surface at an affordable price, and you continue saving because of fewer maintenance requirements and lower maintenance costs.

Sound to good to be true? It would be if we hadn’t discovered a simple way to “organize” rubber strands instead of rubber pieces into a continuous, firm yet flexible track surface built on an asphalt substrate that’s solid as a rock. A latex bound SEAL-FLEX offers you the resilience that athletes and coaches love, combined with the safety and traction of an all weather surface. A SEAL-FLEX track keeps its good looks for years with very little maintenance, and is always an attractive addition to the athletic site.

SEAL-FLEX Specifications

SEAL-FLEX has been rigorously tested under ASTM standards for tensile strength, spike pick-up, freeze/thaw resistance, abrasion, resilience, light exposure and chalking. It has been proven to be tough, durable and virtually maintenance free. SEAL-FLEX is often imitated but never duplicated. Insist on the right track, a genuine SEAL-FLEX track! SEAL-FLEX can be installed from just 2 layers to 8 layers.

Our installation process

The rigors of our Great Lakes area climate are tough on pavements and sports surfaces. For years it has been a battle to keep tracks in decent shape with patch and seal asphalt maintenance programs. Our years of experience combined with the latest pavement restoration technology provides us with the means to bring your existing track up to standard for application of SEAL-FLEX. SEAL-FLEX provides the absolute best long term pavement protection. Once applied, the days of repeated asphalt patching and sealing are gone forever.

SEAL-FLEX LR-6

The original SEAL-FLEX system patented bonding process, with six layers of stranded rubber is the top of the line. This surface is simply the most durable, quality surface you can find.

  • LR-4 is 4 layers black minimum depth 1/4 inch

  • LR-6 is 6 layers black minimum depth 3/8 inch

  • LR-8 is 8 layers black minimum depth 1/2 inch

SEAL-FLEX LR-2

The original SEAL-FLEX system patented bonding process, with multiple layers of stranded rubber is the top of the line. This full-depth, 1/8″ surface used for resurfacing of existing tracks.

SEAL-FLEX CRS-6

This sandwich system has a black, stranded rubber base for durability and is topped with layers of colored EPDM rubber. This surface is available up to 1/2″ in depth with a wide range of color selection (optional red surface shown)

  • CRS-5 is 3 layers black and 2 layers color minimum depth 5/16 inch

  • CRS-6 is 4 layers black and 2 layers color minimum depth 3/8 inch

  • CRS-8 is 5 layers black and 3 layers color minimum depth 1/2 inch

SEAL-FLEX CRS-2

The Seal-Flex rubber running surface shall be applied over a proper substrate, paved to tolerance as specified by the Architect or Engineer and allowed to cure approximately 21 days. The Seal-Flex base course shall consist of multiple applications of strand rubber aggregate with a colored granulated surface course, all bound with successive applications of SEAL-FLEX SELECT poly-resin latex compounds

SEAL-FLEX CR-4

The Seal-Flex rubber running surface shall be applied over a proper substrate, paved to tolerance as specified by the Architect or Engineer and allowed to cure approximately 14 to 20 days to insure oil free surface. The Seal-Flex base course shall consist of multiple applications of granular rubber aggregate bound by successive applications of poly-resin to achieve an approximate nominal depth of 3/8 inch as specified.
